Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism This would not have been my first choice in a point and shoot, but when my first choice had problems and was sold out, I had to decided on something else. The price was okay- not great but fair. I didn't feel like I was getting the deal I had previously, but I really wanted to try out the wifi. I honestly didn't know if I would keep it, but I did intend to put it through the test. The wifi was easy to set up. I did have to watch a video to figure out how to do the wireless backup, but once I figured it out, it too was simple and very nice. However, I was real disappointed to find the remote iPhone app only works if you have a "hot spot" which is insane. It could just as easily work on my home network as it could my phone carriers- so that became a moot feature.Yet, the main thing I wanted was a camera that took beautiful crisp pictures and features in abundance. I was quite surprised to find all the Samsung SH100 offered. I have been married to one brand for years, and I really didn't think it could be beat but the clarity of my photos from this camera can be outstanding. However, there are other times it struggles to focus- but that could be my error too since I haven't had much time with it. I can say, the best ones are better than my former brand's best, yet I never had exposure or focus trouble formerly either and I do occasionally with this oneI was disappointed to not find panoramic shooting of any kind, but aside from that it has every featured and filter one might want. I especially like the old film movies and pictures. And the many fun features like billboard, magazine covers, etc... and the ability to edit in camera (though not extremely user friendly or in depth). The camera can't be used without a memory card (so it says, but there is some internal memory?), and the memory card needed is micro sd. Both are negatives, but those are my only complaints. In summary, the negative:Priced averageNo panoramamust have memory cardmemory card is micro sd which is hard to work withremote app is not practical and useless for most userscomes in need of a firmware updatecould be a little more user friendly in areas, but not too badthe good:Nice looking, light, sleek designMacro pictures are AMAZINGA filter available for everything, and fun frames to play withgood video and fun featuresAbility to back up wirelesslysend via email, upload to facebook or web instantly from your wifidecent battery lifeedit in cameracamera feels durable and well builtcharge via computer or acNeutral opinion on touch screen. It works, but not like an iphone. Exposure on smart auto seems off too, but again, this could be me.So- much to my surprise, I am keeping this Samsung and I fully intend to explore all its many features. Picture quality must be priority one- and this one won't let you down. Who knew?
